Notice to all members of the HVAC/R Division of UA-NJ   
The MCICNJ has agreed to pay the $128.00 fee associated with the S.T.A.R. certification exam. This is a one time incentive for each member. If you have never taken the exam, or paid the fee yourself and did not have success, you are eligible to receive this benefit.  Please call the Training Center and register for the next testing date listed below. We will be offering additional sessions as needed.



OSHA-10/30 Certifying Course
If you or your contractor is in need of either of these courses, call the Training Center. We can adjust dates and times to accommodate your needs as long as we have the minimum number of participants.


Universal R-410A Safety and Certification Course
This program will be offered Tuesday, September 9th and Thursday, September 11th from 6:PM to 9:PM. It will provide Training and Certification for experienced HVAC/R Technicians. The class will consist of 5 hours of preparation and conclude with an on-line exam in our computer lab as in compliance with Esco Institute. The cost of the seminar is $40.00 which includes a training manual & the exam. Additional classes will offered as needed.


S.T.A.R. Certification Review and Test
We will be offering a review and testing session at the Training Center. The review will be on Thursday nights from 6:PM to 9:PM September 18th, 25th and October 2nd, with the test being held on Saturday, October 4th at 8:AM. The cost of the exam will depend on your status as described above. If you are interested, please call the Training Center.

Annual Benefit Seminar
Informational seminar to cover all your benefits and how to best use them will be held at the Training Center Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 9:AM until noon. If you have questions about the Welfare Fund, Pension, Annuity, Credit Union or EPA program, this seminar will be beneficial to you. Please call to register.


Open Computer Lab at the Training Center
October 4th, November 1st and December 6th....If needed additional Saturdays will be added. The computer lab is open to all members on these dates from 8:AM to 12:PM. We have a complete list of manufacturer links and related programs. CD's are also available that contain many manufacturer's parts and equipment.
Extra help for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentices will be available on open lab Saturdays. The 4th and 5th year apprentices are to notify the Instructor of the course in which help is needed.



All certification courses will be run on a continual bases. We also have additional courses that are noncommittal as of this date. Check our web site often for other educational opportunities that will be posted in the near future.
