The UA - S.T.A.R. Certification Program is offered to all members that wish to become UA STAR HVACR Certified. Successful completion of the UA STAR exam earns applicants 32 hours of college credit toward an Associates Degree from WCC / UA University.

We will begin the UA STAR Certification Program by offering review classes and registering you to take the test on the scheduled days. The testing days will be on Saturdays. The Certification exam is 199 questions and you are allowed 4 hours.

Overview of STAR Certification Program:

We will be conducting review sessions at the Training Center on the scheduled review dates.  The test taker will submit an exam application only when the test taker feels he/she is ready to take the test on the scheduled test dates. You do not have to register for the exam if you feel you are not ready to take and pass the exam. You may attend as many review classes as you feel you need.

On your first review session you will receive a review book and practice questions. The Instructors will provide an overview of the test topics and make suggestions on how to succeed in passing the exam. At this time you will be enrolled in the UA / WCC Blackboard™ On-line learning system. The on-line element is vital for you to review with fellow participants in the virtual classroom (Chat area) and provides you with the tools to work at your own pace. This method will allow more review/study time while not driving to and being physically here at the Training Center. You will need to use a computer with Internet access to be able to participate in this component of the program.
